I am feelin' crafty!

This morning marked the completion of my second big quilting project: a laptop sleeve!

Decked in fine Victorian-inspired prints of floral vines (my favorite!), it has been made custom to fit my Dove Vaio CR-290:
Take a gander at the back panel:
(If you couldn't tell, I've got an affinity for kites.)

Detailing on the front:
Birdhouse, flowerpot, bumblebee, snail, leaf!

Behold! There's even a little zipper
to keep the said Vaio tucked away safely!

So the sewing's a bit rough, but I'm pretty dang proud of this little knickknack. Sewing in an invisible zipper is quite a step up from a flat quilt, in my book! Here was my first project, from this past winter:
Elphaba's hat.
Sharp, dontcha think? You know black is this year's pink!

Look, it's Galinda!

Finished at 45x60 inches, I'd say it's quite Wicked!

Stay tuned for more projects to come!

I am taking supplements

... of Special K with Strawberries!

I pondered stating that I was on a "Special K diet", but realized that it's not so much a "diet," rather a supplement, when you eat an average of three bowls a day in addition to your regular three daily meals. Something about the crunch of cereal and the tartness of dehydrated strawberries just seems to delight my tastebuds, gross enough as it sounds!

As you may infer from my blogging on breakfast cereals as of late, life is quite tame at the moment. Not to say that it's relaxed-- it's anything but! My days pass in a flurry of attending my SLP classes, then teaching my junior high classes, drizzled with peaceful hours of quilting far into the evenings and early mornings. Soon, the preparation for upcoming GREs will be thrown into the mix, and I'll be dedicating hours to reviewing my math skills and expanding my mental lexicon. Que fantastico! I'll soon be scrounging for time to hang out with my lovely friends -- yes, all three of them -- but I know that amid the busyness of responsibilities, it'll be that much more refreshing to sit down to a cup of tea or dessert with those I love. :)

Signing off for now. Farewell to my two readers. See you in an hour! ♥
